LEEDS OPERA FESTIVALS WORLD PREMIERE

Leeds Opera Festival are presenting the  world premiere of their major new commission, Sherlock Holmes – The Sign of Four, a brand new opera by award-winning composer Lliam Paterson.

Performances will take place at the Leeds School of Arts from 28 – 31 August 2024 at 7.00pm.

The production is the first-ever opera adaptation of the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes. Bass Edward Hawkins leads the cast in the role of Sherlock, with tenor David Horton as Watson, soprano Ellen Mawhinney as Mary, and bass Trevor Bowes as Jonathan Small.

Sherlock Holmes – The Sign of Four headlines this year’s Leeds Opera Festival, which also includes a musical escape room, an interactive mystery show touring Yorkshire libraries and a special new project with Guest Artistic Director Emma Hill, Opera Rave, which presents opera in exciting new and immersive ways.
