| Young riders can learn to bike safely as new bike park and playground opens at Temple Newsam’s golf club. |
| Designed to replicate features of real road layouts, the first of its kind in Leeds, the bike park offers plenty of fun challenges including traffic lights, give way lines and a level crossing.
Children of all ages and abilities can develop their confidence, riding skills and ability to read traffic signs at the park which even has its own stone hump bridge, designed to replicate the real stone bridge found within the extensive grounds of Temple Newsam. Alongside the bike park, visitors can also enjoy a brand new adventure playground. Offering a toddler sandpit, an adventure trail and a climbing forest the playground promises to be a fun experience for children of all ages and abilities. To benefit wildlife and biodiversity new wildflower meadows have been created and more trees and bushes have been planted near the play area. The updates to the golf and activity park also come with a new community café serving light bites and drinks, with a patio overlooking the grounds. The golf club, set within Temple Newsam’s historic parkland offers two nine-hole courses and the area connects easily to walking routes, open parkland and woodland paths.
