As Veganism Set to Grow by 327%, Great Yorkshire Vegan Market Takes Place This Sunday

According to a recent survey by finder.com, the number of vegans in the UK is set to increase by 327% this year [1]. The figures indicate that over the next year, 2.2 million people will become vegan, with the vegan population growing to around 2.9 million. And if you’re thinking about becoming part of all of this, The Great Yorkshire Vegan Market this Sunday, 30th August, is the perfect place to start. It is a popular annual event on the vegan calendar and the organisers have announced that due to current restrictions, this year it is an outdoor event.

The Great Yorkshire Vegan Market takes place at  Leeds Kirkgate Market, Vicar Lane, Leeds LS2 7HY on 30th August from 10.00am to 4.00pm. This vegan extravaganza features over 80 fantastic stalls, world food caterers and free samples running throughout the day. 100% of ticket money goes to animal welfare charities as the event is 100% voluntarily run.

There is a wide range of global vegan dishes to experience from the Greek Vegan Deli, House of Habesha, Mel’s Tropical Kitchen, There’s No Catch vegan ‘fish’ and chips and Vdogs – offering a range of delicious vegan hotdogs. There will also be lots of free vegan food samples to try including vegan cheese and chocolate.

 

 

 

 

 

Other stalls include cruelty-free gifts from York Candle Company, popular animal welfare charity, Miracles Mission, Iuvo Skincare and vegan fashions from Vegan Slogans among others.

The Great Yorkshire Vegan Market takes place on Sunday 30th August 2020 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Leeds Kirkgate Market, Vicar Lane, Leeds LS2 7HY. Entry is £5 payable per day on the door (under 16’s free) or £15 for VIP tickets in advance from Eventbrite to include fast track entry and a goody bag full of vegan products, samples, discounts and offers. 100% of ticket money goes to animal welfare charities as the event is 100% voluntarily run.
