Eat your heart out Phil Taylor and all you other world class dart players – because Coggins has got a new passion darts!
Up until I visited Flight Club, the birthplace of Social Darts in their new Leeds venue on East Parade – although watching the occasional T.V. vintage programme Bullseye late at night when returning home from a late news shift – I had never played darts.
It was the sort of game I associated with pies and pints in the country pub or a vintage local.
Enter Flight Club who have taken the traditional game of darts and supercharged it and developed a range of fast and exciting multiplayer games, housed it all in a breath-taking bar where food and drink is served to you as you play – the result ‘Social Darts’.
I was certainly blown away by my visit to Flight Club. Who ever imaged great food, cocktails and a high tech oche situated in a wonderfully decorated spacious bar to match any of the city centre top venues. The Flight Club has certainly created a new dimension to the city’s vibrant hospitality scene.
It’s a spectacular space, so whether you’re after brunch, an after work drink or a bit of friendly competition it has all bases covered.
Full or partial venue hire options are also available while the bar itself is home to 13 oches (darts playing areas) and has a total guest capacity of 400.
For the best experience, it’s recommended that you book a 90-minute slot for a game which me and my two male colleagues did. I did miss the board a few times but soon got into the swing of things despite being left handed and not very tall and I even won a few games! Not bad for a beginner with promise I was told.
This place provides a supercharged version of the traditional game involves a series of multiplayer games using unique patented dart tracking technology designed by Flight Club’s very own astrophysicist. Tournament tech can connect up to 150 players within the venue. Instant scoring eliminates any need for counting and reimagines matches into fast-paced, exciting social experiences.
Flight Club Leeds blends the nostalgia and warmth of a traditional British pub with the energy and magic of the fairground. Cutting-edge technology is used to make darts easy and accessible for everyone.
Even if you’re not after a game, the Brunch Social menu is the sure-fire bullseye you’ve been waiting for. Like the sound of bottomless pizza and a bottle of prosecco each? Then Flight Club’s Brunch Social, which runs Thursday to Sunday (12:00-2:00 and 2:30-4:30), will be the place for you.
Flight Club Leeds bookings are now open. Oches at Flight Club’s existing venues are regularly reserved up to three months in advance so book your place here: http://bit.ly/2OwZgRw.
