ROYAL ARMOURIES LAUNCHES FIRST ON LINE EXHIBITION

Before they closed the doors to their Leeds museum the Royal Armouries were busy putting the finishing touches to a major new exhibition celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Field of Cloth of Gold, as well as a supporting programme of Tudor Power & Glory events.

The exhibition is on pause and the events postponed for now, but history is coming to life online with digital events, videos, activities, and behind-the-scenes insights that explore the stories behind one of the biggest sporting-come-diplomatic events ever held.

Five hundred years ago in June 1520 two ambitious young monarchs – King Henry VIII of England and Francis I of France – met in France for a diplomatic summit and tournament in an attempt to secure peace for Europe.
