FOR SPRING AND SUMMER
Now we can get out and about and meet up with friends for a night out, a meal and very soon dining out its time to start thinking other things that have been neglected during lockdown – our faces.
Getting your skincare back on track is important but looking at the new makeup looks and colours is equally important. Nothing beats a slick of a bright lipstick , a swirl of bronzer or several coats of mascara to help get out of those blues that lockdown may have left you with.
The new colours, textures and looks for Spring/Summer have an exciting feel good factor about them and there’s something for everyone.
So make for the counters this weekend – you will be glad you did.
Les Fleurs De Chanel explores the plant realm in their Spring/Summer Collection and, more specifically the world of flowers. Among these flowers, are camellias which were dear to Mademoiselle Chanel, and also peonies, irises, anthuriums, pansies, carnation and sweet peas.
Thanks to this research a new colour scheme and range of effects were created. (See our main picture)The collection is light and luminous, warm mixes with cool and sparkles are combined with subtle earthy brown undertones. Delicate meets bold in this collection. Subtly golden peach pink illuminates the face juxtaposed with warm intense tones of bright red and poppy orange for lips and nails and terracotta harmonies give eyes more depth.
Bring the Bloom is the message from MACCOSMETICS. Their Black Cherry collection is a complete colour collection for eyes, lips and skin – it’s glow with glamour.
In the collection there’s a preview of the New Glow Playup Lip Balm formula in four limited edition shades, that smooth and plump whilst hydrating for up to six hours.
You will be lost for choice at the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna counter with a range of exciting new products to give warmth, blend and blur imperfections whilst giving the face a great glow.
New is Fenty’s Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint that gives light to medium coverage for all skin tones. It contains Fenty Beauty’s proprietary Quickblur Complex to diffuse the look of pores and wrinkles. Eaze Drop is available in 25 flexible shades that cover all 50 shades of the Pro Filt’r shades and like all Fenty products it’s sweat, humidity and transfer resistant so it won’t rub off on your mask.
We love the drop tip applicator that allows you to start with just a few drops to build the coverage you want, fits into your bag, so you can apply anywhere.
There’s also another shade been added to Fenty’s bronzing powder range. Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer gives a sun soaked glow that really lasts but best of all it blends and builds and is transfer resistant. Whether you are looking for all-over warmth or that sun sculpted look this product does it all with its soft matte finish plus its backed by mango and papaya fruit extracts to give your skin a natural glow with every swipe.
Shiseido’s Spring Makeup Collection takes light to new levels with a soft blurring primer and a radiant lifting foundation. To describe these two new products I can only say is like having your picture taken with a soft focus lens.
The Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation with its exclusive blend of pearls, powders and light reflecting particles is weightless, buildable and comes in 30 different shades. It has a SPF 30 and is infused with collagen-supporting beech tree bud extract and other goodies.
Their new Synchro Skin Soft Blurring Primer is weightless and water-based. It erases excess shine and blurs imperfections for a soft-focus finish. It absorbs oil and sweat throughout the day and creates a natural glow whilst smoothing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and rough skin.
Nars Euphoria Collection has a collection of luminizing essentials for eyes, lips and face. The collection features an exclusive blend of light reflecting pearls and pure colour pigments that give a natural glow and a sheer wash of colour. The collection includes Afterglow Lip Shine, in five shades and a face palette with eight eyeshadows in satin, matte and glittering finishes, with three glistening shades of highlighter to build and blend your way to a sheen that catches the light from every angle.

Finally one of the things that kept me going during lockdown was using self tan products I even encouraged my friends to use them too and they all agreed a glowing golden face does make you feel better in the morning no matter how down you feel!
So now things are getting back to normal and we are beginning to get into summer clothes it’s the time of year when we start to think of using more self tan products.
One of the UK’s leading tan brands is St.Moriz, which goes all the way back to 2008, has always been affordable and accessible to everyone which makes it a great choice when everyone is on a tight budget.
The brand recently has had a face lift so to speak with new packaging and new products. It now has a tan for every skin tone including the new Colour Correcting Tanning Mousses, available in shades of light to ultra dark and caters for a range of undertones and gives a natural look.
