Cleopatra never undertook a journey without having the sails of her boat coated with precious oils “so perfumed that the winds were lovesick with them”.

Fragrance is an important accessory and like our apparel should change with the seasons. Just as we chose clothes, footwear and makeup to suit the summer weather – our perfume should reflect the season too.

So we’ve put together some of the best scents of the season – and like in ‘strictly’ they are in no particular order.

Les Eaux de Chanel first launched in 2018 is a range inspired by destinations beloved by Gabrielle Chanel and composed around freshness. This year the collection takes us to Paris with Les Eaux de Chanel Paris-Paris

Built around the Damask rose, a rose full of character that reveals a multitude of facets. Its sparling freshness is heightened by lemon and mandarin, its spicy notes by pink peppercorn and the woody heart by patchouli.

Created in 1981, Eau d’Hadrien from Goutal Paris is a zesty combination of the authentic Sicilian lemon, grapefruit and cypress that evokes the heart of the Mediterranean sun and the shade of the lemon tree.

Stimulating and fresh with lemony notes it is inspired by Annick Goutal’s  by her own emotions and is a celebration of nature as well as her unique refinement.

If you want to step away from the florals and fruits then Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan EDP is the answer with its rich blend of amber, vanilla and patchouli.

Evoking a fragment of amber resin picked up by Serge Lutens during a wander through the souks of Marrakech, which lay forgotten inside a wooden box, this perfume marks a return to a focus on the identity and authenticity of unique ingredients.

A Drop d’Issey Eau de Parfum Fraiche was created to capture the journey of a raindrop in Springtime.

Within the scent this drop encounters is a profusion of colourful flowers including lilac accord intertwined with Damask Rose, a crisp cedar and a creamy sandalwood accord with the freshness of white musk.

Issey Miyake comes in a 5% recycled glass bottle, a cardboard box sustainably managed forests and the fragrance is vegan.

Light Blue Italian Love Pour Femme was created by master perfumier Olivier Cresp. It is a lively, fruity floral scent inspired by sun-drenched days on the magical island of Capri.

The freshness of sparkling Calabrian lemon and crisp Granny Smith apple is softened by a feminine bouquet of heady jasmine and pure white rose with cedar wood, amber and musk to give it a seductive warmth.

Flower by Kenzo L’Absolute EDP is a bouquet of blossoms with a new sensuality. This iconic bottle of the fragrance houses a seductive and sophisticated fragrance

In this new fragrance perfumier Alberto Morillas has created a stunning new interpretation with precious raw ingredients. Spicy notes of saffron meet aromatic orange blossom and Damask Rose absolute with base notes of soft vanilla and white musk for sensuality.

There’s two fresh summer fruity and floral fragrances from Kayali Fragrances. Eden Juicy Apple is refreshing and like spraying a bouquet of fruits and flowers. This cocktail is plumped with crisp and juicy red apples, raspberry bloom, exotic lychee and intoxicating jasmine all wrapped up in a blanket of crispy vanilla flower. Kayali Citrus is a blend of Italian bergamot, pink grapefruit, rhubarb, blackcurrant, pink pepper, rose centifolia, musk, tonka and oak moss making it a refreshing fresh and floral scene with citrus tartness.
