AT HARROGATE'S NORTHERN SHOOTING SHOW.
St George’s Archery Club will celebrate its golden jubilee this spring as they return to The Northern Shooting Show on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May at the Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate.
ThE club is based in Allerton Park and has 140 members ranging from eight to 80-years-old. They have exhibited for the past five years, offering archery experiences to hundreds of visitors with a record 400 people taking part last year, using a recurve bow to fire arrows up to 15 yards into a traditional straw target under the watchful eye of an instructor.
As well as visitors being able to fire off arrows, bowyer Ian Marr will be on hand to answer questions and give demos on how bows are made by hand.
The Northern Shooting Show will welcome more than 20,000 visitors from all over the country looking to try a myriad of shooting-related activities including shotguns, airsoft, archery, bushcraft, airguns and metal target shooting with rifles. Held both inside and outside, the annual event showcases wares from hundreds of exhibitors from all over the world that provide visitors with a unique shopping event that covers everything from country lifestyle to technical shooting gear.
