NIGHT AFTER NIGHT AFTER NIGHT....

Throughout time fragrance has been seduction’s most powerful weapon.
Madam Pompadour spent the equivalent of more than a quarter of a million dollars on perfumes to impress her royal lover with true orgies of scene. Cleopatra never undertook a journey without having the sails of her boat coated with precious oils and Marilyn Munroe once declared Chanel No5 to be the only thing she wore in bed!
Now from Chanel comes Coco Mademoiselle L’Eau Privee, the latest interpretation of the iconic fragrance first launched in 2001.
Orchestrated by Olivier Polge, the Chanel In-House Perfumer Creator, and the Chanel Laboratory of Fragrance Creation and Development, this version is designed to be sprayed in an enveloping gesture before bed.
I asked Olivier Polge how his inspiration for L’Eau Privee first came about.
“I started with the idea of a new way to wear fragrance, a new concept of time. Coco Mademoiselle is dedicated to the night, but in a delicate and subtle expression, something confidential and personal to perfume the skin as well as the sheets.
“This intimate interpretation is almost the opposite of Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense. It is a soft and hazy fragrance like a watercolour. While it has a slightly weaker diffusion, its trail leaves a true imprint, particularly on clothing.
Polge admits he loves the idea of a fragrant touch left on a pillow or scarf, rekindling a memory the next day.
“L’Eau Privee has the freshness of an eau de toilette, but the woody notes are softened to gentle release the top notes of citrus and particularly the joyful bitterness of a more sparkling mandarin, and to exalt the musky face. Its expression is true to the original but less extraverted, it is more delicate and intimate.
Coco Mademoiselle L’Eau Privee comes in a 50ml & 100ml elegant bottle. It’s a scent that will delicately perfume your dreams night after night.
