ITS PERFECTION IN EVERY WAY AT THE COSY CLUB

The Cosy Club must be one of the city’s best kept secrets – but once you’ve discovered it, it  will go to the top of your list for dining out options.

Cosy Club has just so much to offer – great food, a wonderful ambience and amazing décor, knowledgeable and ready to please staff that these days are a rarity in many establishments and an amazing menu with something for every body whatever their dietary requirements, taste or favourites.

From the outside the entrance to The Cosy Club just looks like a vestibule with a staircase and lift but ascend the multi-mirrored staircase and suddenly you feel as if you have been transported into a glamorous 60’s Hollywood style Narnia with an almost cinematic look  that will really take breath away.

The main colour of the décor are shades of pink and orange giving an eclectic mix that really has to be seen to be believed and appreciated. The lighting is sublimely beautiful with lots of stained glass screen, a choice of types of seating including some incredibly comfortable banquette seating and there are at least nine different seating options of varying size, comfortable bar soffas and including a covered terrace area for when the heat is on. Each area has its own individual style, character and décor which blends together with the other areas so expertly.

We got a very warm welcome when we arrived and were escorted to our table  in one of the two restaurant areas with views over the Trinity Centre.

Whilst we perused the dinner menu we decided to opt for the Tea Time Tipple offer where by any two cocktails are £15.50 which operates from Sunday to Friday from 4pm to 9pm.

Our cocktails arrived and we were not disappointed My Passion Fruit Martini consisted of Vanilla vodka, passion fruit, pineapple, lime and vanilla and came with a shot of Italian sparkling wine whilst my colleagues English Garden transported her well into summer  she said with its fresh taste. The mix was refreshing with Hendricks Gin, elderflower, cucumber and apple juice.

We chose from the small plates for our starters. My choice of Pulled Beef and Smoked Bacon Croquettes was a good one. The coquettes were full of flavour expertly bleded and so smooth.  They just melted in your mouth. The crispy leeks added a new dimension to the dish as did the grated Italian style hard cheese that decorated it.

It was the Black pepper and Lemon Smoked Salmon that tempted my colleague. It came with a smooth but flavoursome honey-whipped ricotta and a soft her salad and was served on rye bread. A generous portion the ingredients made a great combination. The salmon was very tender and not chewy and the fresh mint leaves made a delicious addition to the salmon.

Our main course choice was a hard decision to make but I eventually went for the Herb Crusted Roast Salmon Fillet. This was served with crushed baby potatoes, garden peas, broad beans and sugar snaps with a pea and tarragon velouté which I asked to be served on the side.

My salmon was cooked to perfection and the herb crusting was a very tasty addition to the fish. The vegetables were clearly fresh and the velouté was smooth and rich and brought out the flavour of all the ingredients of the dish.

The Chicken and Smoked Bacon Caesar Salad couldn’t have been a better choice for my colleague. There was a very generous portion of chicken along with home made croutons and some delicious flavoursome crispy bacon. The salad was beautifully blended with lots of parmesan and as a side she chose the very tasty laffa flatbread.

There is no shortage of desserts at the Cosy Club and I like the way they put their special Gluten Free Desserts and Vegan Desserts in their own section on the menu saves you have to decipher codes of what is in what however all sweets that fall into any dietary category are still marked on the ordinary dessert menu.

I chose the Coconut and Lime Panna Cotta. It was served with fresh mango which gave it a special tang  whilst the mint and coconut biscuit crumb gave a wonderfully  fresh dimension to the Panna Cotta .

My colleagues Mascarpone and Madagascan Vanilla Cheesecake was a real heaven on a plate. It was not too sweet but very creamy and the biscuit base had a lovely lightness about it. It  has macerated strawberries and was decorated with chocolate shards.

To say we were impressed by the food at Cosy Club was an understatement and we are already planning our next visit with our respective friends and family.
