PUP-TASTIC FUN AT NORTH YORKSHIRE WATER PARK

 

With parts of the UK currently in the grips of a scorching heatwave as temperatures continue to soar, many of us are enjoying the sunshine whilst looking for ways to cool off.

But what about our beloved four-legged friends? Whilst some of us may love to bask in the sun, it’s not always comfortable for our dogs. However, pooches don’t need to miss out on the outdoor fun this summer as much-loved watersports attraction North Yorkshire Water Park has a range of dog-friendly activities designed to keep our adored pups cool amidst the heatwave.

With the RSPCA calling for pet owners to take precautions to keep their furry friends safe during the intense heat, the popular Yorkshire destination has reopened its Doggy Paddle Zone, a space for dogs to exercise in style and enjoy a dip in one of its lakes to cool down. Visitors can take their four-legged friends for a stroll along the water parks popular walking trail, a shaded and safe walking route to ensure their paws aren’t burnt.

As well as offering a doggy paddle zone established as a dog-friendly destination, the water park also has a dog water station for pups to visit to keep themselves hydrated in the heat.

The RSPCA has been providing advice with ways to protect the nation’s much-loved pets during the summer heatwave – especially dogs, as they are more likely to suffer with heatstroke due to exertion. Walks during the day have been advised against, but access to shade and water is recommended.

“As well as offering a range of dog friendly facilities, the water park has a wide range of exciting activities for all the family to enjoy, such as the AquaPark, an inflatable obstacle course offering three different courses, kayaking, open water swimming, wakeboarding, pedalos, and the popular climbing wall and Zipline.
