YOUNGEST BBC MUSICIAN WINNER

AT LEEDS TOWN HALL

YOUNGEST BBC MUSICIAN WINNER

The Dresden Philharmonic makes a welcome return to perform the closing concert of Leeds International Orchestral Season 2017/18, under the baton of Michael Sanderling with 2002 BBC Young Musician violinist Jennifer Pike, on Saturday 19 May at Leeds Town Hall.

Jennifer Pike has taken the musical world by storm with her unique artistry and compelling insight into music from the Baroque to the present day. She gained international recognition in 2002, when, along with becoming the youngest-ever winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year, she became the youngest major prize-winner in the Menuhin International Violin Competition.

Founded in 1870, the Dresden Philharmonic brought a new spirit to the city’s public music culture. The orchestra remains true to this tradition today and has remained a concert orchestra with regular concerts at home and all over the globe.
