Restoration of Old Workers Cottages makes a new pub
Leeds is set to welcome a brand new addition to the independent food and drink scene at the end of January. The Turk’s Head will open the doors on 30th January, offering an extensive range of craft beers and spirits from independent producers, and a unique cocktail list.
Brought to you by the team that own Whitelock’s Ale House, and The Five Points Brewing Company, The Turk’s Head is the latest chapter in the 300-year history of the pub and revives the name by which Whitelock’s was originally known in 1715. The building has seen a few different guises over the years, originally they were former worker’s cottages and more recently the function room of Whitelock’s. The site has had a complete strip out and remodel and has carefully been realised with the help from Lord Whitney, a creative studio in Leeds.
The Turk’s Head will have an ever changing beer menu which includes 12 on tap and 2 cask lines, the debut menu includes beers from leading UK breweries including Five Points Brewing Company, Ilkley Brewery and Cloudwater. The Turk’s Head will showcase independent and artisan spirits, giving Whittakers of Harrogate, a small batch distilled gin company their first step inside Leeds. An interesting cocktail menu has been devised to by drinks expert Sienna O’Rourke with classic cocktails such as Old Fashioned and an IPA cocktail. The bar will have a Victorian influenced menu designed by Head Chef Robbie Andrews.
