North Yorkshire Water Park is thrilled to announce that it will be open every day this October half-term, providing action-packed experiences for families and adventure enthusiasts. Located against the stunning backdrop of the North Yorkshire countryside, the water park offers an array of thrilling activities for all to enjoy – including 2 new additions. Whether you’re a water sports enthusiast or simply looking for a day of adventure, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
In the spirit of Halloween, North Yorkshire Water Park is hosting a special Pumpkin Trail Hunt around the water sports lake. Taking place between the 27th to 31st October, visitors of all ages are invited to take part by counting how many hidden pumpkins are scattered around the scenic trail. There’s no need to book as this entertaining hunt is free of charge, with prizes awaiting those with the spookiest searching skills. All accurate guesses will be put into a prize draw for the chance to win a family ticket for four people to come back and enjoy an activity of their choice.
Additionally, families can be amongst the first to attempt the waterpark’s brand-new Escape Rooms, which give visitors the chance to take part in an immersive and challenging experience. Launched just in-time for the October half-term, the theme of the Escape Rooms pays homage to the water park’s history, which previously served as an RAF base between 1918 and 1919, using war-time themed props and effects to teleport you into a World War 1 army operations base. Guests will be transported back to 1918 and will have 60 minutes to crack a series of codes and puzzles to prevent an enemy attack.
But that’s not all, families and friends can enjoy unforgettable adventures and experience the thrills of Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, Kayaking and Wakeboarding – whether you are looking to develop your water sports skills, challenge yourself to learn something new, or simply want to take in the beautiful lakeside views, there’s an activity to suit all abilities and ages.
Those looking to stay dry this half-term can be amongst the first to take on the brand-new Low Ropes course, that is designed to put your core strength, ability and balance to the test in a fun and safe environment. They can also choose take on the 13-metre-high climbing tower and 250m long twin ziplines, allowing thrill seekers to take a breath-taking descent across the lakes whilst taking in the scenery.
Newly launched in 2023, the waterpark also hosts Puzzle Rooms which allow guests to step into a world of intrigue and mystery and work as a team to unravel mind-bending tests. Comprising of 30 unique tasks that are designed to test perception, general knowledge and problem-solving abilities – all of which need to be resolved within 45 minutes to successfully complete the challenge.
