THE PICK OF THE NEW FRAGRANCES FOR AUTUMN
We may have packed away the bikini and the sun cream but its not yet time to start thinking about the long winter nights, thick sweaters and heavy coats – the lovely season of autumn is here.
You may be planning or already have purchased things for your winter wardrobe and some autumnal fashions but what about a fragrance to go in tandem with your autumn look. It’s a little early to go for those heavy, heady fragrances that spell out party season and candlelit nights and the lighter summer fragrances don’t seem to mingle with the transition period into winter. So we’ve picked out a selection of new fragrances on counter that will take you perfectly perfumed through Autumn and into winter.
Jo Malone’s latest fragrance has the entrancing title of Honeysuckle and Davana. It’s a happy floral which is fresh with rose and has an aromatic fruity twist of davana and base notes of moss.
Anne Flipo, Master Perfumer says of the new fragrance “The brief was to capture the exact scene of honeysuckle, which we were able to do thanks to the headspace we created in the Cotswolds. We added an unexpected twist to this very English flower with davana, moss and patchouli, turning it into another modern chypre.”
Try it for yourself at the Jo Malone boutique in the Victoria Quarter.
Jimmy Choo’s new fragrance Fever certainly has magnetic allure. It’s an addictive new scent that plays on contrasts between floral and gourmand. To create this scent, perfumers Paris based Nathalie Lorson, and Honorine Blanc who lives in New York explored new facets of almond and black plum nectar.
The result of this combination is certainly amazing with top notes of black plum nectar, lychee and grapefruit whilst contrasting heart notes including vanilla orchid and jasmine mingle with base notes of creamy sandalwood, the balsamic warmth of bonzoin and the roasted almond facets of the tonka bean. This is certainly is one for your wish list at any time of the year.
We’d all love to own something from Cartier but for most of us their jewels are out of our price range. However their new fragrance Carat enables us to wear Cartier every day!
The inspiration for this fragrance comes from Cartier’s iconic jewellery. The new bottle, a must for every sophisticated follower of fashion and lover of luxury, is designed to emulate the light and radiance generated by diamonds and how they can reflect and shine on the skin.
Carat brings together all the colours of the rainbow in one bottle. Violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red are represented by violet, iris, hyacinth, ylang, daffodil, honeysuckle and tulip. These tones create a rainbow of layering. Carat Eau de parfum is unusual, original and very imaginative in its interpretation.
Autumn brides can take heart that a new fragrance from Estee Lauder Beautiful Belle, has a hint of ireverence with its luscious flora, oriental scent. It has a heart of floral bouquet with orange flower and gardenia. These flowers have been put together in a proprietary process to capture their exquisite aroma and to create an ingredient exclusive to Lauder. Combined with top notes of rose petals, mimosa and pear blossom and a sumptuous oriental base notes this fragrance is like no other.
And not forgetting him ….Issey Miyake’s L’Eau Majeure D’Issey SuperMajeure is a fragrance that he will just love and become addicted to. It is invigorating, masculine and a symbol of strength and energy. It has a surge of aromatic notes infused with essence of clary sage and rosemary combined with dark patchouli, ambery woods and cashmeran black salt whilst the smooth tonka bean and black vannila give leather and smoke undertones. The bottle is smooth, simple and makes a strong powerful statement with its logo and unusual cap.
