To commemorate the Titanic’s maiden and only voyage, a one-off presentation entitled ‘Titanic – A History Wardrobe’ is to be held at Bagshaw Museum in Batley. The presentation will take people back to the spirit of 1912 Edwardian society and give an insight into life on the RMS Titanic through costumes of the day, documents and survivor testimonies. The event follows the recent poignant visit to Dewsbury in October 2013 of the world famous violin played by RMS Titanic Bandmaster and Dewsbury resident Wallace Hartley. For one day only the violin was part of a public exhibition at Dewsbury Town Hall which was visited by hundreds of people. The ‘Titanic – A History Wardrobe’ presentation will take place at 2pm on Saturday February 8 at Bagshaw. Tickets are £12.50 and can be booked from the museum at firstname.lastname@example.org or ring 01924 326155. Bagshaw Museum is situated at Wilton Park, Batley, WF17 0AS.
