The Palace reveals exciting new look and menu

Kirkgate pub The Palace officially reopened this week following an extensive two-week refurbishment which gave the city centre pub an exciting new look.

The former home of a Leeds timber merchant, the renovation has retained and amplified the pub’s historic features – most notably maintaining the large clock which has stood at the heart of the pub for decades.

In addition to the new look, the Palace offers an exciting new food menu for visitors to enjoy in a modern, easy-going tavern. Guests can now tuck into a brand new food menu which will include freshly made stone-baked pizzas for the first time.

Joining the new food menu punters will also be greeted with a thirst quenching and extensive drinks menu which will feature a wide selection of craft beers, including some of the latest brews from Kirkstall and Leeds breweries. These local ales will be present alongside the regularly rotating cask ale offering for which the pub is famed.

Visitors to the Palace will be able to enjoy their drink in front of one of several big screens which will be dotted around the pub showing the country’s biggest sports events.

Speaking about the refurbishment general manager at the Palace, Ashley Davies, said; “It’s been fantastic seeing the pub come together over the last couple of weeks and we can’t wait to welcome everyone who comes to pay us a visit. The team and I are very excited to see our guests’ reactions over the coming days.

“Being ideally located right next to Leeds Minster, our pub is the perfect spot to relax after a long day with friends and family. Our revamped menu offers delicious fresh food providing something for everyone to enjoy and will feature all the pub classics as well as brand new freshly made stone baked pizzas.

“Along with the improved menu we have a fantastic selection of drinks, including a new range of craft beers and ciders which we’re sure will go down well.

“The menu won’t be the only changes our regulars will notice, we’ve also given our interiors a really fresh new look and feel that complement the pub’s traditional features.”

Following the extensive refurbishment and significant investment made at the pub six new jobs have been created for the local area, with the team ready to pull pints and serve delicious food to guests.
