The combination of Mike Walker’s compelling lyricism
The combination of Mike Walker’s compelling lyricism on Guitar with Iain Dixon’s versatility and hard-hitting tone on clarinet and sax is a delight to anticipate. The uncanny affinity of these two musicians will result in an outstanding performance, at Wakefield Jazz, ranging from sentimental to rocking and spectacular roaring blues. The pair head up a quintet comprising Les Chisnall on piano, bassist Gary Culshaw and Caroline Boaden on drums.
This band has recently been selected as one of Jazz North’s Northern Line Ambassadors and Mike’s place in the super-group Impossible Gentlemen both attest to the quality in store.
Chris de Saram WJ promoter says “just watch out for that moment when Mike takes off and flies a sure winner every time”
