OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN THE RIGHT SKILLS
retailTRUST, the UK’s leading charity for the retail industry, is bringing its revolutionary employment initiative retailRIGHT back to Leeds for the second time, after a hugely successful pilot scheme in 2015. This new round will enable 20 people from Leeds to participate in the 10 week development programme.
The previous edition of the scheme saw great success, with 50% of the 16-24 year-old participants in Leeds gaining employment work after completing the course. After a fantastic reception to the programme, retailRIGHT have now taken the decision to open the applications to anyone aged 16 and over, to support a larger number of people into employment in the retail industry.
Through a mix of pre employability training and practical work experience with a leading high street retailer, retailRIGHT gives trainees the opportunity to gain the right skills and experience to naturally progress into a retail career. Previous rounds of the programme across the UK has seen 70% of individuals that have completed the course, moving into positive outcomes.
retailRIGHT is aimed at those who are currently not in education, employment or training, and works to prepare participants for a rewarding career in the retail industry. For those who have been struggling to find work and would love a role within a leading high street store, retailRIGHT can provide the ideal route into permanent employment. Participants are offered work experience with a fantastic variety of leading high street retailers, including Clarks, House of Fraser, Maplin, Pets at Home, and Savers with many securing roles with their placement provider post-completion.
The closing date for applications for the Leeds round of retailRIGHT is fast approaching. Apply online today: http://www.retailtrust.org.uk/products/retailcore/retailright/apply.
