HOLDING BACK THE YEARS…

HOLDING BACK THE YEARS…

As you can imagine as a beauty editor over the last couple of decades I have had literally hundred of facial treatments  all over the UK.

But I have never found one that has given lasting results and I have always refused to think about having invasive procedures.

So when I heard about Sofwave – a non-invasive aesthetic treatment  using ultra sound I was more than excited.

I have always loved wearing lots of eye makeup  sometimes bright, sometimes subdued but I felt at times it was fighting my eyelids as I got older and I really wanted some kind of lid-lift or my eyebrows lifting – enter Sofwave.

Up until last Autumn Sofwave was not available outside London but The Newcastle Skin Clinic was the first place in the north to offer this.

Sofwave is the latest technology to revitalise the skin through innovative stimulation of the production of new collagen. It’s Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology is used for lifting the eyebrow, submental and neck and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Newcastle Skin Clinic was launched in 2014 by Award-winning aesthetics nurse, Luisa Scott, after five  years of working in The Medispa Harrods and Harley Street  she was delighted to have been chosen to bring Sofwave to the North.

“Within the past couple of months we have seen a huge interest in this  lunchtime facelift procedure. Clients can have the 30 minute procedure and return to work – there are no side effects nor visible temporary marks on the skin.”

Luisa who has a number of celebrity clients says the treatment has been one of Hollywood’s best kept secrets for many years.

“Usually the average client who we treat with Sofwave is between 40 and 65 with visible skin ageing such as sagging and wrinkles”. However Luisa adds they are seeing slightly younger patients come to the clinic who want to preserve their skin and effectively store as much collagen as possible”, says Luisa.

The technology is fully FDA cleared and works by encouraging the stimulation of new collagen by heating the skin to around 60 degrees Celsius.

One question Luisa gets asked is will it hurt “The beauty of Sofwave is that it is painless. Some patients may feel a slight pressure on their skin, but by using a numbing cream even that pressure sensation is minimal”.

“The beauty of this procedure is that there is no down time –  you can go to the gym, wear makeup and even have a cheeky drink of alcohol afterwards”

“Sofwave tightens the skin in t he treated areas and you can see visible results from six weeks onwards, lasting 12 to 18 months – from a very quick procedure” she says

So I was ready to put Sofwave to the test. Luisa recommended an eyebrow lift which would certainly make my lids look better and also enable me to wear my eye makeup to its full potential.

I was amazed that the procedure was so quick and absolutely painless although perhaps the numbing cream helped and there are no needles.

Within 30 minutes I was ready to leave the clinic – putting on my makeup I noticed a slight change in the eye area in that it seemed lifted. But nothing like the change that reflected from my eyebrow lift 6 months later and a change that will continue.

Newcastle Skin Clinic offer a complete face treatment or can treat one area – either an eye and brow, neck life or mid-face lift.

They will even put together a package for clients living outside the area at an additional reasonable cost consisting of hotel accommodation, dinner and a taxi to clinic plus the price of the treatment.
