WHATEVER THEIR AGE!
‘Hormonal Housewives’ is a witty, rude, topical comedy show that’s coming to City Varieties on April 2nd. Starring Vicki Michelle (‘Allo ‘Allo, Emmerdale) with Josephine Partridge (Top Girls) and Scottish comedian Julie Coombe, this no-holds-barred show blasts its way through a catalogue of women’s bits: weight gain, weight loss, mood swings, housework, homework, electrolysis, men, sex, working out, staying in, going out, a lot of chocolate…and you get the idea!
It’s the perfect girls’ night out and if the men want to come along too, that’s fine says Julie Coombe who wrote the play with her husband John McIsaac: “We want people sitting in the audience saying ooh, that’s me up there! And we want them to have fun. It’s about three friends who’ve known each other for years – they can say anything to each other but they’re also really supportive of each other. They’re supposed to be going out for the evening but they end up not going out, staying in, drinking a lot of wine and discussing – very loudly – everything under the sun! I said to John I love spending time with my friends and he said I love spending time with your friends too – they’re far more interesting than guys!”
