NEW ANTI-CONCEPT RESTAURANT FOR LEEDS NOW OPEN
Get Baked, Leeds most popular takeaway, a runaway hit with students, today announces the opening of their eagerly awaited first bar and restaurant, The Joint.
The 300 capacity “anti-concept” casual food destination and bar is located on the former site of Halo nightclub at Leeds University and plans are already underway to open further sites in Manchester and Newcastle.
Set in an 1820’s former church on Woodhouse Lane and featuring a quirky, artful interior design with original artworks, wall pastings and an original red telephone box, The Joint is described as a dirty burger and desserts hang out with a deliberately edgy under the counter drinks menu.
The news charts a meteoric rise for the Get Baked team, who’ve seen their maverick brand grow from a home based business in just three years. News of the The Joint’s opening party sparked a frenzy amongst fans of the popular takeaway service as more than 2000 people applied for tickets within fifteen minutes of them being announced.
A spokesman for Get Baked said:
“From my mums back room to a big f**k off church in three years! That and we’re chuffed to be so close to campus and have access to 28,000 students – it’s a great hub for everyone using the new £27.5 million library.”
Serving original recipe American dirty style burgers, pancakes, grilled sandwiches and fries alongside a unique drinks offer, The Joint is open from noon until midnight seven days a week.
Meanwhile its business as usual for the Meanwood Road delivery branch of Get Baked which delivers on average, a huge 4,000 orders a week.
