The celebrities best kept secret
It’s the favourite with celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Michelle Keegan and Jessica Alba and Halle Berry and the best selling treatment at the Four Seasons, Beverley Hills – so even after three decades and have had literally hundred of facials and treatments as a beauty editor I had to try it.
The Fire and Ice Facial bridges the gap between a salon treatment and a medical clinic procedure. It’s designed to rapidly and safely resurface the skin, reduce fine lines, address problematic skin and encourage cellular renewal. The treatment involves using two masque. The skins is thoroughly cleansed first. The fire masque is then applied. This is used to exfoliate the skin. It contains glycolic acid, which helps improve the skins texture and appearance, plus retinol, a form of vitamin A that also improves the texture of the skin.
The therapist will warn you to expect tingling which begins after a few seconds. It’s not particularly unpleasant and you can feel a slight heat whilst the peel is in contact with the skin. I lasted the full time but if it does feel uncomfortable the masque can be removed at any time.
After this the ice masque is applied. It’s so soothing and moisturising and hydrates the skin. After this lovely masque is removed a serum is massaged into the skin to finish the treatment.
The best thing about the Fire and Ice Treatment is that it is a ‘no downtime treatment’, so there’s no significant shedding, prolonged redness, irritation or inflammation. So ideal to have at the 11th hour before a red carpet event.
The result: I was speechless it literally made my skin look fabulous. Gone were the dark shadows and tired skin. The youthful glow and brightness that I saw in the mirror was just incredible. The facial is great as a quick fix when those special events are looming and it only takes one hour. But get the maximum lasting results from the Fire and Ice facial, like most treatments, a course is recommended.
