The Adelphi’s comedy night, You’re ‘avin’ a Giraffe (or YAAG, as those in the know like to call it), has now firmly cemented itself onto the thriving Leeds comedy scene. When you think about it, the night’s success is no surprise, as it’s got all the right ingredients: a great venue, a lively atmosphere and regular performances from some of the top names in the world of stand-up - as well as some lesser known emerging talents. So if you’ve not yet got yourself down to one of Leeds’ best-loved boozers to brighten up the first Monday of the month, now might be the time to do it. With a selection of smooth ales and homecooked delights served up in the eclectic retro atmosphere of this fine old Victorian public house, you might even want to make a night of it and get straight down there after work.
Who can you see at the next instalment of YAAG? Martin ‘Bigpig’ Mor is in town, with his brand of madcap circus-style tomfoolery sprinkled with sharp topical gags. Also on the bill are Ben Davids and Katie Mulgrew, along with resident MC Danny McLoughlin. Oh, and look out for a special YAAG on 17th and 18th April, when Zoe Lyons’ nationwide Miss Machismo tour stops by.
