The ‘Grace Kelly’ singer has only been around since 2007, yet Mika is now a household name taking the charts and top industry awards by storm. The release of his debut album, Life In Cartoon Motion (which sold six million copies), brought comparisons with artists such as Freddie Mercury, Scissor Sisters, Prince, Robbie Williams and David Bowie. He has gone on to be nominated and win awards from the Brits, the Grammy’s, the World Music Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards, to name but a few. He’s done it again this year at the Brits, nominated in the British Solo Artist category.
It doesn’t end there though. Proving that he is more than a colourful popstar, he has also reportedly penned hits for some of the biggest names in pop including the likes of Boyzone and Cheryl Cole.
With a North American, European and Australian tour and countless festivals under his belt, the classically trained star is preparing to kick off his UK tour in Spring this year. Expect a flurry of high octave, joyful and empowering performances, and expect just that as he takes to Leeds Academy to promote his new album The Boy Who Knew Too Much next month.

me and a colleague were just wondering why you failed to italicise the song ‘Grace Kelly’? We feel the artist would not be happy about this fact….great write up though.
