Just Jack has been a player on the UK pop carpet ever since he broke through with ‘Starz In Their Eyes’ with a little push from Radio 1’s Jo Whiley. 24 year-old Jack Allsopp is London born and bred and his influences are wide. As a child he was an amateur break dancer listening to hip-hop, breaks and dance music. As an adult, his music blurs the common boundaries of music and comes neatly packaged as pop. With more of a confessional poetic approach to his vocals than your average pop artist, his music bears similarities to that of The Streets but with an endearingly cheeky London swagger - think of the modern day wide eyed artful dodger with a few years on him.
This charm is probably why he’s continued to have the hits with singles ‘Embers’ and ‘The Day I Died’ both hitting the top 20 this year, why he’s performed with Kylie and traipsed the path round the big pop festivals - Glastonbury and V Festival in particular.
This summer saw the release his third album All Night Cinema, which scaled the top 40 and as is expected, he’s touring far and wide to promote it, calling into Leeds on the way.
