In our comedy special last week, we pointed out that The Library has established itself as a regular venue for top comedians’ national tours. And just to prove the point, Andrew Maxwell is set to follow hot on the heels of the likes of Stewart Francis and John Bishop at the Woodhouse Lane pub, as he calls in at the end of this month as part of his debut national tour.
Maxwell is a well known comic in his native Ireland, having shot to the top of the DVD charts with his first live DVD, and he sold out a national tour of the country last year. He’s also a regular fixture at the Edinburgh Fringe, having honed his solo act there over the past ten years. As Maxwell’s stock has risen, he’s appeared on various TV shows, including ‘Have I Got News For You’, ‘Mock The Week’ and ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’.
Now is your chance to see him in action at this intimate local venue as part of his 34-date tour. And if you can’t make his appearance at The Library, then you can see him before then at the Harrogate Theatre, if you’re lucky enough to get a ticket.
10 April, Harrogate Theatre, Oxford Street, HG1 1QF, 01423 502 116, £14
30 April, The Library, 229 Woodhouse Lane, LS2 3AP, 0113 244 0794, £10
