Celebrity chef James Martin’s new Leeds restaurant is now open.
The Leeds Kitchen, situated at Clarence Dock’s Alea Casino, promises to bring the best of British cuisine with a twist. The menu can be seen here.
And the fine dining restaurant has also provided a timely boost on the employment front, as Martin has recruited 25 experienced chefs and front-of-house staff in preparation for the eagerly awaited opening.
“Leeds and Yorkshire is the perfect place for me to open my new restaurant,” James Martin said, adding that he has managed to assemble “a great young team, both in the kitchen and front of house”.
Martin continued: “Being a Yorkshireman, it’s not hard to understand why the produce is so good in the area and we are going to use it to maximum effect on the menu. As well as the restaurant, we have great function rooms and even a private cinema to hire for our customers, which is something different for any event or party.”
The expertise of Yorkshire-based interior designer Carolyn Parker has been deployed to ensure the surroundings match the food. Working together with her daughter Abby and a select network of local suppliers, Parker has created a warm and open design, incorporating some unique pieces aiming to reflect the celebrity chef’s personality.
