How do you think your scene is doing at the moment?
To be honest, we’ve never been busier. Due to the recession many people are depressed, but that makes their weekends partying all the more important. And we’re experts in making the weekend one not to forget!
What do you think of the dance music scene on the whole?
I’m loving the scene at the moment, there’s so much variety in styles and genres. We’re starting to push new concepts to add to this, like silent discos in the back room where the DJ plays to 100 clubbers wearing wireless headphones. We’re also throwing a 3D party in the coming months at Mint where the VJ will project 3D visuals in the club and we’ll be handing out 3D glasses to everyone.
Do you think the dance and indie scenes are merging somewhat?
There are certain parties that focus on this style of music, it has taken off over the last year but it doesn’t really fit into one of our Filth parties.
Do you think people are turning from dance to guitar music?
Not really, I’ve always been into my bands as well as dance music. A lot of people used to be into either one or the other, but nowadays people have broader musical minds and attend various different styles of party.
Is dance music dead?
Dance music is the single biggest youth movement on the planet, and it’s 20 years strong. The scene at the moment is massive, dance music will never die!
