Competition WIN! Tickets to the Small Animal Show in Harrogate
We've teamed up with the Burgess Premier Small Animal Show to give away tickets to the Rabbit Grand National this month. Seriously
Competition: WIN! Tickets to the Small Animal Show in Harrogate
We first encountered showjumping rabbits last January. As funny and adorable as it sounds, the Rabbit Grand National, held at the annual Burgess Premier Small Animal Show in Harrogate, sees bunnies from around the world (rabbit jumpers are particularly big news in Sweden, as it goes) competing in a mini showjumping ring.
Last year’s efforts were diverse, from an epic Belgian Hare from Sweden (actually a breed of rabbit, so totally above board) who took the high jumps in his stride, to a lop from down the road, clearly more interested in getting back to the hutch for a carrot and a nice lie-down.
The event, held on both days of the show, 28th and 29th January, accompanies the more serious looking business of breeders showing some 3,000 rabbits, guineapigs, rats, hamsters and mice to judges. Now celebrating its 90th year, day tickets to the show cost £7 and we’ve got our paws on five pairs of them to give away to readers.

I took part in the jumping display last year with my rabbit jasper - rest in peace :’( It’s me and him in the photo :) He looks gorgeous but it’s such a bad photo of me haha! This year I’ll be there with my bunny mischief who like jasper loves to jump. :)
