The Eton Collection, the company behind Leeds’ four-star boutique hotels Quebecs and 42 The Calls, have partnered up with Alea Casino to create the Viva Las Leeds package. For £100 per person you get a deluxe room for the night in either hotel with breakfast and an evening at Alea Casino. There, a cocktail class precedes a three-course buffet at The Bird, Alea’s Indian restaurant. Then a one-hour tutorial on the betting tables preps you for your night’s gambling.

Interview Setting His Sights High

Leeds man is set to climb Kilimanjaro

It’s a challenge that puts most of our New Year’s resolutions to shame: a local Leeds man, Alastair Graham, 28, is preparing to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in February for children’s charity, Comrades of Children (COCO).

Kilimanjaro is both the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world – at an impressive 5,893m (19,334ft) above sea level. The trek itself will take up to seven days and Alastair expects to be walking for up to seven hours each day.
