Preview It's a Knockout

The annual pool competition and charity night returns to the Elbow Room on 19th August

If there’s one thing the Elbow Room does well, it’s pool. Pool and great drinks. Two things that the Elbow Room does well; pool, food, great drinks and music. Five things. Plus sport. Abandoning the Monty Python reference (not a moment too soon), the Elbow Room can now add charity to its growing repertoire with the announcement of their annual pool tournament, this year in aid of seven… Read more...

Bradford Bulls Two More Losses

Fortnightly Super League news from The Odsal

It’s an all too familiar tale of two losses again this fortnight.

Coming straight off a humiliating performance against Huddersfield, many would have thought the first game against the Crusaders would have been just the challenge the Bulls needed to get back to winning ways. Not to be, as the Crusaders – who are fast becoming the latest bogey side for Bradford – racked up their biggest score in Super… Read more...

Yorkshire Country Cricket Club Losing Momentum

Fortnightly cricketing news from Headingley Stadium

A busy couple of weeks have seen Yorkshire lose some of their early season momentum. At the Rose Bowl against Hampshire in the County Championship, Yorkshire racked up 415 all out in their first innings, Adam Lyth continuing his breakthrough season with 133 and receiving good support from Anthony McGrath (64), Andrew Gale (56), Adil Rashid (51) and Joe Sayers (49).

Hampshire replied with 351, Rashid taking 4 for 62,… Read more...

In The Shed Japan World Cup 2022 Bid

This fortnight, Murphy Simmonds feels let down by Japan

If you’re a fan of sporting endeavour, you will doubtless have noticed that the World Cup of Football is currently taking place. We don’t know much about it, but we do know that it’s a thrilling tournament held every 17 years on top of a mountain in which a group of nations who have historically bullied, invaded, occupied, pillaged and nuked each other join hands in the name of competitive… Read more...

Leeds Rhinos World Famous 'Round Here

Regular Rugby Super League news from Headingley Stadium

That wasn’t bad, was it? Six wins in a row in league and cup and, all of a sudden, those who had written us off are insisting that they knew we would come good all along.

Of course, it could all come unstuck this Saturday (12th June) when we travel to Harlequins without some of our top players, all because RL chiefs thought it would be big and clever to… Read more...

Yorkshire Country Cricket Club A Drop To Second Place

Fortnightly cricketing news from Headingley Stadium

A 6 wicket defeat in the Championship to Somerset has finally seen Yorkshire slip from their perch as Division 1 leaders, but they remain in second place and with an excellent chance of their first County Championship title in nine years.

At home to Loughborough MCCU, Yorkshire predictably used the match to blood some young players and get some match practice for some of their reserves, Richard Pyrah (134 not… Read more...
