Bradford Bulls Two More Losses

It’s an all too familiar tale of two losses again this fortnight.
Coming straight off a humiliating performance against Huddersfield, many would have thought the first game against the Crusaders would have been just the challenge the Bulls needed to get back to winning ways. Not to be, as the Crusaders – who are fast becoming the latest bogey side for Bradford – racked up their biggest score in Super League to date, racking up 44 points to the Bradford 20. That week Steve McNamara had taken charge of his first full match as England RL head coach, so maybe some of the disruption could have been attributed to that.
Regardless, questions had to be asked of the team’s commitment – and many answers were found last weekend in the fixture against Warrington. Don’t let the 40-28 scoreline deceive you – even hough Bradford had let past 40 points for the third fixture in a row, the match was a closely fought passionate affair with many academy lads having to take the place of their senior counterparts due to long term injury – scrumhalf Cain Southernwood making an impressive debut against a Wolves team whose talent on the pitch must have been worth almost double on the salary cap compared to the Bulls team.
It’s coming to the do or die part of the season now and upcoming fixtures against Castleford and Hull FC will see if the Bulls can secure the playoff place they have deserved for most of the year, or sink without a trace like last season.
