Bradford Bulls A Shaky Fortnight

A shaky fortnight to say the least for the Bulls. The first fixture against Wakefield at Belle Vue is always a tough one for the Bradford outfit. Regardless of where Trinity are in the league, they always step up when the Bulls come to town, meaning the matches are always tight affairs.
This match certainly was no exception. The first half started much like Bradford’s last Super League outing against the Crusaders, with the Bulls coming out of the traps with expert enthusiasm and a few chances, but taking none of them. Wakefield, though, managed to bide their time and pounce when the Bulls were weak, racing into a 10-0 lead that didn’t reflect their first half dominance. However a quick score on the half time buzzer meant Bradford were back in it and in a real tale of two halves, never looked back as they scored 29 unanswered points to win the game.
The second match against Leeds also saw Bradford pull Jekyl and Hyde performances either side of half time. In the first stanza the Bulls really looked like they could do a number over a recently rejuvenated Rhinos outfit, but as soon as Leeds went a couple of scores ahead early in the second half both sides began to look utterly disinterested resulting in one of the dullest 40 minutes I have ever seen between these two sides.
Perhaps both sides had an eye on the upcoming cup quarter finals this weekend. With Bradford’s being against current holders Warrington, they are going to have to play consistently for the full 80 to stand any chance of making a semi-final appearance.
