Trainee Sales Executive (full time)

Published every fortnight, The Leeds Guide is a high quality entertainment and lifestyle title that consistently delivers results for our ever-growing group of advertisers.

We are looking for a Leeds-based sales executive to join our successful sales team. This will be your first step on the media sales ladder, therefore no experience is necessary and full ongoing training will be provided.

This full time position will require you to sell to new and existing advertisers both over the telephone and on a face to face basis, therefore you should be able to demonstrate that you are a confident individual who relishes the opportunity to speak persuasively with new people. You will also be expected to work to meet and exceed targets set by the sales manager as required, therefore you should be driven by success and motivated by the need to succeed.

You will also be expected to thoroughly research, maintain and develop your 'sales territory'; therefore you will be a highly organized individual, able to work under your own initiative; the ability to cope with the pressure of strict deadlines with grace and humour is a pre-requisite and therefore suited to a person of a calm temperament.

Your role will necessitate regular, high quality written communication with your clients, therefore you must also possess excellent writing and presentation skills.

Listings Editor (voluntary position)

Leeds Guide are looking for a budding young journalist keen to get experience within the industry. We need an organized, committed member of staff to spend between one and two days in the office a week (days flexible Monday to Friday) helping to write and manage listings for both the website and the magazine. The job will require good IT skills, high writing proficiency, an eye for details and a knowledge of the city.

This role is unpaid, but would be suitable for someone keen to gain experience in the industry, and we'd try and sweeten the role with the occasional freebie. Please email the editor (editor@leedsguide.co.uk) for more details.
