Film Peeping Tom

Mon 10th January 2011 (8.35pm)

Michael Powell’s Peeping Tom broke new ground in horror but ruined his career when the British critics tore the film to shreds. After a successful revival led by Martin Scorsese, the picture is now rightly viewed as a classic and an intense assessment of the nature of film. A young filmmaker hides a secret career as a psychopath, murdering young women. The secret of his childhood is revealed in a frightening ending that lingers in the mind.
