Hyde Park Picture House

Venue Review

The oldest cinema in Leeds is also the best for arthouse films. With an eclectic mix of classics, a large amount of world cinema as well as the odd blockbuster, the HPPH (as it’s not known by anybody) is a popular choice. It’s a world away from Vue – you have to queue outside while they’re getting ready between screenings – but it all adds to the fun of this old school gem. Those struggling to pay for their beans on toast but desperate for a cinema fix can take advantage of the midweek matinees, too.
