When Harvey Nichols arrived in leeds, the city knew it had arrived, particularly as this was their first store outside London. Its premium designer labels attract both the young and affluent, and Yorkshire’s older moneyed contingent. It’s largely thanks to Harvey Nichols that the Victoria Quarter is the success it is. As with most department stores, perfume and cosmetics can be found on the ground floor along with accessories, including Anya Hindmarch and Chloe bags and a sunglasses station. Menswear is on the first floor where you’ll find Dolce, Hugo Boss and Maharishi. Womenswear on the second and third floors is equally impressive, featuring labels such as Alexander McQueen, Amanda Wakely, Prada, Gucci, Dior, YSL and Pucci. The food and wine hall on the top floor, which now hosts a Yo! Sushi, is great for presents and spoil-yourself luxury items. Just imagine the pose factor when you pull a packet of Harvey Nichols teabags from your kitchen cupboard. The grandeur of the store is exemplified by the lovely top hat-wearing doorman who is something of a Leeds legend.
